The International Rubery Book Award is a prestigious international prize. We seek the best books by self published authors and books published by independent presses. We are the longest running self publishing awards in the UK and an established and respected name in the publishing world.

Our resident judge, Paul McDonald, has a wealth of experience in a wide range of genres. His published works are equally wide ranging and he has had years of experience  lecturing in Creative Writing.

Our Guest Judge each year brings new experiences and knowledge. Previous judges include Booker shortlisted author, Clare Morrall. In 2025 we welcome R.M Francis.
